Death by Chocolate Trifle
1 (21 ounce) package brownie mix (or make from scratch)
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup water
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 pint whipping cream, whipped
¼ cup powdered sugar
6 Heath or Snickers candy bars, chopped
Prepare brownie mix according to package directions in a 9x13 pan and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch squares.
In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in ½ of the whipped cream until no streaks remain. Whip powdered sugar into remaining whipped cream.
In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mixture, half of the chopped candy bars and half of the remaining whipping cream. Repeat layers. Reserve some candy bars for garnish. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
Makes 12 servings
