Campbell Holiday Stuffing

1 package pork sausage (sage), browned and drained
½ cup butter
1 large onion, diced
3 large carrots, diced
3 stalks celery, diced
1 ½ teaspoons sage
1 teaspoon thyme
½ teaspoon pepper
9 cups soft or frozen bread cubes
1 egg
1cup warm water
chicken stock

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large skillet melt butter. Add diced vegetables and sauté until tender.

Combine cooked sausage, vegetables, sage, thyme, pepper and bread cubes in a large bowl. Add egg and water and mix thoroughly. Add chicken stock if too dry.

At this point, use mixture to stuff turkey or place mixture into greased casserole and bake 30 minutes.
