Sukiyaki

1 pound round steak, cut into strips
2 tablespoons oil
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/8 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 beef bouillon cube
1 cup hot water
1 large onion, cut into quarters
3 stalks celery, cut diagonally
4 carrots, cut lengthwise
16 ounces mushrooms, quartered
1 pound bean sprouts
salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil in large dutch oven and brown meat. Add garlic, soy sauce, sugar, bouillon and water, mix well and bring to a simmer. Add onion and simmer 3 minutes. Add carrots and simmer 3 minutes. Add celery and mushrooms and simmer 15 minutes. Add sprouts and cook 15 minutes longer or until all vegetable are tender. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve over rice.
