Gingersnaps

2 1/4 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
3 eggs
6 tablespoons dark molasses
6 cups flour
6 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons ginger
sugar

Mix shortening and sugar.  Add egg and molasses.  Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture.  Roll small pieces of dough in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
